Hello! I hope you are enjoying yourself as you browse though my web site. My name is Reuel Feenstra, and I would like to tell you a little about myself and my web site.

I am a Christian, who goes to church every Sunday in the small town of Grand Valley. I love working with children and have always enjoyed drawing since a very young age. I, together with my 2 brothers and 3 sisters, would often like to draw or colour at the kitchen table. I remember drawing horses, birds, cars, airplanes, and buildings. As a family, we would often go to the public library and find drawing books, and in this way, I learned how to draw. In 2002, I started to draw portraits using the artwork of Lee Hammond. I love her drawing style and techniques, and I think it was her work that got me excited about drawing people. Since then, I have always enjoyed drawing pictures of children. In 2008, while I was looking for good photos of children to draw, I came across the work of Tracy Wright Carvo. Her portraits of children are absolutely beautiful! I started making this web site in 2008. At the time, work was slow at Floristerra Greenhouses and Landscape Centre because it was cold and everything was carpeted in a blanket of snow. I had spare time on my hands that year, and I decided that it would be fun to create my own web site. I really did not know how to, but with the help of Site Build It! I was able to start creating my first pages.

After creating some web pages with Site Build It!, I soon realized that although I could create a successful web site using their database and forum, I needed a template that would allow me to showcase my drawings easily. I tried out WordPress which is a blogging template, a template made by A.J. (a Site Build It! user), and eventually ended up with what I have now, a template that I modified from templatemo.com. I learned all the code, and am able to customize each page and make it look the way I want it too. Yes, I write every page myself, and although I read over my work, I have a bad habit of reading over my mistakes. Presently, I work at Dufferin Area Christian School in Laurel, Ontario. I teach grade 5 and 6 students, which keeps me very busy! My drawing and web site building is kept as a hobby. When I have spare time I may add a page to my web site, or draw a photo for someone.

What I really like about this web site is that it allows me to draw for anyone around the world. Every month it receives more traffic, and with the addition of pages, it continues to grow. So far, I have been asked to draw portraits for people in Canada and the United States.

I also love to do anything outdoors; biking, canoeing, skiing, camping, fishing, etc. I enjoy listening to music and appreciate many different genres. I love to take pictures with my Nikon SLR. I joined dailyawards.com so that I learn from others' work and showcase some of mine. I would love to take a trip some time so that I can take pictures of various landscapes. I would also like to learn how to take good photographs of people.
