I drew this butterfly drawing mostly from my head. I drew the hand drawing the butterfly using my own hand as a reference. The butterfly is intended to look like it is just about ready to spring off the page as the hand finishes drawing the last details. I used a number of different drawing pencils to render the dark and light lines.

This butterfly drawing is my first drawing that really started bring visitors (perhaps like yourself) to my site. I have also received many comments on it. I guess this shows that artists do not have to spend a lot of time on a drawing to make an effective image that can be enjoyed by many. Just being creative goes a long way!

So, take out your drawing pencils and draw something creatively. Break the rules.
